June 18 - Word Count 15,077
I did it! I may have gotten behind over the weekend, but I was able to catch up tonight by reaching a total word count of 15,077. Some of the writing was good, some of it not so much. Reading back over it though, there’s nothing wrong with it that can’t be fixed by some editing.
I’m noticing a weak spot for me, and that’s the dialogue. Sometimes I can get it down great, and other times, it sounds choppy and unrealistic. I’m definitely going to have to go back and edit quite a bit of it once I’ve completed the first draft.
Also, I’m thinking that I’m going to have to come up with some more scenes to add into the storyboard. I’m progressing down the timeline more rapidly than I had originally anticipated. That means I need to rework the plot a bit and add some more interesting scenes. I added a small one in tonight, and it actually turned out to be one of my favorite scenes so far.
Tomorrow will be the day that I surpass the 16,000 words mark. Meaning, it will be the most I’ve ever written for one story. Yay!
