Alou!
I won’t pretend to know a whole lot about baseball. I just know that I like the Mets. I like the players, the energy, the attitude. Sure, there was a let-down this past season, but I’m convinced they can come back with a vengeance in ‘08.
What brings on a post about baseball? Two things:
1. I had been planning on starting a new and separate blog from this blog, my writing blog. I decided to create the new one to write about anything and everything. So, I got the domain name, installed word press and wrote one blog entry. Then, I got distracted. I thought I’d try to keep all of my random blabberings in a separate spot from my writing blabberings, but I give up. I’m just going to put it all together. So, that’s why there is a post about baseball on a writing blog.
2. Moises Alou had his contract option extended for 2008 today. I’m so excited about this, I couldn’t resist making a post about it. Alou is amazing. He’s one of my favorite baseball players whom I’ve ever seen play. That might not be saying much since I haven’t been watching baseball that long. But who cares? He’s awesome. He has such control. He’s so calm and collected. And when he gets up to the plate, you can count on him to hit that ball. And he does. Every single time. That’s why I love Alou.
