The Power of the Writing Community
Yesterday, over 300 bloggers rallied in order to promote the new release of the paperback version of The Liar’s Diary by Patry Francis.
Why did over 300 bloggers, writers, agents and artists rally for this promotion? The author is currently battling cancer, a nasty cancer. She does not have the ability to promote her own book right now. One of the most important reasons for a novel’s success is promotion, word-of-mouth and exposure. So, it seems important that a whole community of bloggers would gather to give some exposure to this novel during a time in which the author cannot do so herself.
In order to demonstrate the power of this, I give you Amazon’s Hot New Releases of Psychological & Suspense Fiction as of January 30th at 5pm EST.
The Liar’s Diary has reached a Number 1 status on this page and is currently at Number 13 on the general Thrillers page. I really think that says a lot about the power of the online community.
