Today was a pretty unproductive day for writing. I had some cat issues to deal with, and I’ve been doing some apartment hunting.
So, unfortunately, I haven’t progressed much in the WIP. I have a feeling tomorrow will be the same unless I try to wake up earlier than usual and do some writing before work.
Oh […]

With less than a quarter of the WIP left to write, I’ve been doing a little agent research. I’m using several online tools and putting the agents I find interesting into an Excel spreadsheet. When I’m ready to start querying (and I’ve already worked on the query letter), I’ll have all my info ready. Then, […]

Last week, I posted that I wanted to write 10,000 words in a week to reach a total of 43,000 words. Well, I’m amazed to tell you that I not only reached that, but also surpassed it. I’m now at a total of 48,757 words. I wrote over 15,000 words this past week!
So, that means […]

Oh, those pesky little characters. You think you know them, and then they come up with this whole backstory you’ve never even imagined.
Here is where some of the magic of writing is for me. I do plot, but it’s on a very basic and general level. Point A to Point B with several steps along […]

Today was a beautiful day. Spring has arrived! I was having trouble staying in the stuffy office this afternoon so I took an hour break to get outside. I strolled over to Bryant Park and basked in the sun while reading Tithe by Holly Black and scribbling plot notes about my WIP.
It was very relaxing […]

According to my estimated total of 75,000 words for my current WIP, tonight I reached my halfway point! I have now passed the halfway mark in being completed with the first draft of my first YA fantasy. Whew. That feels great. I’ve been chugging along the past few days, and I’m really happy with how […]

Happy Earth Day everyone.
If you didn’t know, I’m a big advocate for the environment. We live on a beautiful, thriving planet, and I believe we should do our best to live harmoniously with it. I don’t always make the right decisions in this regard, but I’m trying. I don’t want our habits […]

After my rant post last week about writers actually writing every day, I had to take a little time off this weekend due to way too many obligations at once. I was able to write a few hundred words on Saturday, but I took both Friday and Sunday off from writing. Bad me. But I […]

Well, today was another fun day at the NYC Comic Con. I’m terribly sleepy, so this will just be a quick rundown of the day.
1. Sat in on a panel with Jason Dohring of Veronica Mars talking about Moonlight.
2. Met Holly Black and got a signed copy of Ironside. I forgot my copy of […]
