Next Steps

So, now that I’ve finished the first draft, what’s next?
1. Rewrite. I’m trying my best not to start on this right away although I have a little bit already. I’m going to try to let it sit until I go on my trip to Italy. Plane ride editing fun! Then, the manuscript will be sent out to a few beta readers for thoughts and input. I’m also going to construct a plot board just to double check each of the plot threads. Gotta make sure there aren’t any plot holes are dropped threads!
2. Agent Queries. I’ll be querying pretty soon although I probably won’t keep much of an account of that here unless I get a full request. I don’t really want to broadcast to the world how many rejections I receive. At least not until I’m published, and it doesn’t matter anymore. 
3. New Project. I’ve had an idea for the past month or so that has been buzzing around in my head. It’s still in the concept stage with a very loose plot, but I went ahead and began work on it. It’s interesting…and a little weird. Genre? Young adult fantasy again. Although much darker than the one I just wrote. I have a sequel I want to write for GotS, but I’m not starting on that quite yet. It’s too soon.
Also, I just realized that I never chose a winner for the contest this month. That will be posted in the morning!
