Here’s my current status with the WIP:

50,403 / 70,000 Words (72.00%)
This is where it is at this point tonight. I plan on getting back to work right after this post to churn about a few more thousand words. It’s all been edited as well, at least once. Some sections a few times. I have about 15-20k left of the first draft. It might fall a little short of the 70k goal at first, but I’ll make that up when I go back to edit it again because I tend to add words when I edit. Sometimes areas of my first draft come out leaner than I would like, especially if I’m writing when I’m tired. Which has been this entire week.
I got the snail mail partial requests from the pitch sessions sent out this week, and I realized that I need to invest in printing at home. Kinkos is expensive. Sending these out into the world is worth it, don’t get me wrong. I look at it as a business expense that will be reimbursed if I ever get a contract. However! I think it would be more cost-efficient if I did this at home from now on. A printing of 75 pages cost me somewhere around $30-$40. That’s just ridiculous.
Well, I better get back to work if I plan to make my daily goal. So, I leave you with this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And Dr. Horrible kicks seven kinds of butt. Big time! I’ve watched the first act about half a dozen times. The songs might be even better than the ones Joss wrote for Buffy (and those were so good I bought the soundtrack!). So far, my favorite is the Bad Horse song.
Yay for you! You are definitely keeping me motivated! I’m not anywhere close to 5k a day, but the writing is getting faster as I’m getting further into it.
I love your WIP progress/status bar. I’ve looked and looked for one for blogger. Did you create it yourself?
